"I've been working with Larissa for a few years now and I have grown so much because of her guidance. My artistic skills, both technical and creative, have greatly improved since I first started taking her classes, and I was able to get into all the art schools I applied to because of her portfolio development course."

Working with my students to develop a strong portfolio is one of my strengths as an educator. Following the guidelines required for each conservatory, I create a timeline and curriculum focused on meeting the needs of a successful portfolio for submission.
Depending on the major, whether it be Fine Art, Illustration or Animation, there are specific items that are required in a college art portfolio. I give specific guidance as to what should go into the portfolio and I offer a curriculum built on the interests of the particular student to create the work necessary for the portfolio submission. Does your student need some guidance with their current art class in high school? Is your student creating a portfolio for AP Studio Art and in need of direction or assistance? I also advise and guide your student to create extraordinary work above and beyond their current level. |
Larissa is a very kind and talented teacher, and she works hard to make sure her students understand the concepts she explains. I have worked with OC Art Studios for several months now and have grown so much in both technique and conceptual thinking. Larissa has been a great help during my college search and in the art portfolio application process. I highly recommend her studio for the great instruction and encouragement I've received in my time with her. - Allyson Armstrong |
One on one portfolio preparation consultations are offered at a mutually beneficial time for both Larissa and the student. Students create work each week and receive critiques and guidance to improve their skill set. Portfolio assessment is an important part of curating a strong portfolio for submission and Larissa will assist with the student to select their strongest pieces of work for a winning portfolio.

Larissa has been an amazing private instructor for my daughter, helping her prepare a portfolio for admission to OCSA. Her dedication, instruction, as well as her personal concern over my daughter's success has been remarkable. She is also an amazing artist and overall an awesome person. My daughter loves working with her and she is very flexible with our schedule and needs. - Sylvia Sully I would strongly recommend Larissa Marantz Larissa is passionate about teaching and meets the student at their current level. She is positive and motivates my son to experiment with his art. - Andrea Kallah |
Oh man I can't even begin to explain the experience I've had. After lesson one I had learned so much about how to draw humans properly, and the my skills keep accelerating dramatically each lesson! I even get such helpful feed back that I've noticed pretty much every aspect of my art has increased in quality and many things are now so much easier for me to do and understand! I'm always excited to go into each lesson with new things to show, and I love leaving with something new to work on or something new I've learned! - Valois Stokes Larissa Marantz is an amazing artist and teacher. As the mother of one of her students I highly recommend Larissa. She started private lessons with our son in his 6th grade year. Not only was she able to successfully mentor our son to gain acceptance to OCSA where he attended for grades 7-12 in the Visual Arts Conservatory but she was also an integral part of him attaining other life and academic goals. One of which was becoming an Eagle Scout and the other was being accepted to an Ivy League school (Dartmouth College). Even though he is majoring in Chemistry he continues to apply the things Larissa taught him about drawing, color, technique, light, space, texture and more to his everyday life. She built a lasting relationship with our family and I know she certainly challenges and inspires all of her students to reach or exceed their goals. She is a magnificent person, teacher and artist. She is talented, committed, fun and her energy and passion for the arts is contagious. |
