In this online course, students will learn the fundamentals of creating interesting and appealing characters for use in the animation and illustration industries.
Learn the anatomy of drapery folds and apply them to your costumed character for dramatic effect. Apply research and deconstruct the essential elements of a costume to add personality to your characters.
Create a varied cast of characters for your own project with size comparison sheets.
Required Materials List:
- Sketchbook, no smaller than 9" x 12"
- Drawing Pencils and a Kneaded eraser and Regular eraser
- Black pens (either a sharpie/brush pen/micron pen or something comparable)
- Col-Erase colored pencils
- Colored media (colored pencils, watercolors)
- All work can be done digitally if you are comfortable using a Digital Painting Program such as Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, Autodesk Sketchbook, Ibis Paint, Alpaca or any other digital painting program
